CALGARY – May 04, 2016 – As the massive wildfire in Fort McMurray, Alberta, continues to spread, threatening dozens of local communities, Canada’s largest companies are doing their part to aid those affected.
Vision Travel, Canada’s leading travel management company, has long-standing relationships with clients across Alberta so was impassioned to support the 88,000 residents forced out of their homes.
Vision Travel Foundation, the company’s registered charitable organization, has donated $5000 to the Canadian Red Cross’s Alberta Fire Appeal. Their donation goes towards providing relief for those affected in the form of emergency food, clothing, shelter, personal services and other necessities to help with recovery and resiliency.
$11 million has already been donated to the Canadian Red Cross with the government pledging to match any donation made to the organization.
“We’re humbled to be able to play our small part in the Canadian Red Cross’ recovery support. Our thoughts go out to all those affected by this devastating natural disaster and hope that the country’s collective efforts can provide some immediate relief as well as future aid to rebuild and restore the local communities,” comments Brian Robertson, COO, Vision Travel.
